Long ago, King David was marvelling at the wonders of God’s creation. The beauty, intricacy, and vastness of the moon and the stars, such incredible detail that God made. And yet, he felt his own insignificance and he questioned God: Why do you care for human beings ?
You may have asked similar questions in your life; I know I have. Why does God care about me? What could I possibly have to offer Him ?
The problem with these questions, is that they are focussed on the wrong thing. When we think about our value as humans, we think about what we earn. What we can offer someone to prove our value. But that’s not how our relationship with God works.
When you find yourself questioning why God cares for you, don’t look at what you can offer to Him, look at what He has done for you to prove that He cares.
Look at everything around you and see the goodness of His creation. Look at the work of Jesus and see how far He is willing to go for your sake. Look at the work of the Holy Spirit and see how He continually draws you back to God, because God never gives up on you.
God cares for you because you are His.
