About Us
Our mission statement
Our mission is to know, love, live and share Jesus, so that all may find hope in him.
Our guiding principles
We work with God to build a Christ-centred community by:
- growing into relationship with God and each other through his word
- praying and listening to God
- trusting God as the Holy Spirit leads us
- welcoming everyone, loving others as Jesus loves us
- equipping, empowering and encouraging everyone to use their God-given gifts in serving others.
Our commitment to child safety
We are committed to providing a safe church environment for children and young people. We acknowledge that children are a precious gift from God, with special vulnerabilities, that they require nourishment and nurture in their spiritual development and that they are to be protected from all forms of abuse. We also affirm that we have no tolerance for child abuse and that all its people have an important responsibility to care for children and to keep them safe. The way we care for children reflects our genuineness of faith. It is also a reflection of God’s love and his divine protection.
Our community
We are a welcoming congregation who gather to hear God speak to us through his word, receive his sacraments, forgiveness and blessing and be refreshed and renewed to serve in our community.
We have a single worship service on Sunday using the organ, piano, keyboard and bands in a relaxed family-friendly environment. We welcome all ages, backgrounds, cultures, the disadvantaged and those with disabilities.
Our premises are well maintained, quite spacious and modern with overhead screens, sound system, lighting, padded chairs in air-conditioned premises with ample on and off-street parking and disabled access. There is also a safe and secure lawned area with outdoor furniture to enjoy adjacent to our children’s play area.
We’d love to welcome you, so please come and join us.
Our pastor
Our pastor is Tim Klein. Faith is a community where we are committed to knowing, loving, living and sharing Jesus. We don’t always get it right, but that’s where the Spirit has prompted us to be. God is working on, in and through us.
A little bit about Tim:
I am the husband of the lovely Joylene and have three married kids and ten grandkids. I’m a follower of Jesus and am in his word often. I’m also a keen gardener – it is a great place to meditate, pray and spend time with the Lord. I play the guitar and sing, and I am often at worship with my guitar in hand and a song in my heart! I write the occasional song for worship and enjoyment.
Serving Warradale as a pastor is a great privilege for me. If we can serve you in any way, please feel free to contact us. Please visit our Contact Us page for more information.
Our history
Lutheran involvement in Warradale commenced with Sunday school operating in early 1952 at the Warradale Institute followed by the formation of two local churches 'Faith' in May 1957 and 'Grace' in March 1958.
In January 1967, the congregations merged retaining the name Faith. We were blessed with many members, young families, youth and children actively involved with our local community with a large Sunday school, youth group, netball, tennis and table tennis sporting teams. We also ran a drop-in coffee lounge Lighthouse and kid’s club for several years to further reach out with love to our community. Today, as a congregation with approximately 120 members, we continue to worship God and connect with our community through bi-monthly community meals, mainly music sessions and much more.
We look forward to where God will lead us into the future.
