Local community links
We work in conjunction with the following organisations as part of our ministry to our local community.
Mainly music
Each mainly music has been designed for enjoyment. Weekly sessions, during the school year, are full of fun educational music and musical activity to grow and develop your child, followed by something to eat and something to play with, plus time for you to eat and chat!
Lutheran Care
Lutheran Care support communities through responding to the needs of individuals and families, community development, learning opportunities, accommodation and support. Their staff and volunteers walk alongside those in need to provide, not just the necessities of food, clothing and shelter, but also support and care.
St Paul's Lutheran Glenelg Community Care
St Paul's Community Care is housed in Martin Luther House, next to the church, and offers emergency relief, relevant referrals and a listening ear.
Supported Overseas Ministries
We support the following overseas ministry, as well as others through the Australian Lutheran World Service (ALWS).
Confidence, Grace and Faith Ministry to the Women of Liberia
Confidence, Grace and Faith Ministry to the Women of Liberia is a mission of support for disadvantaged women and children overseas in Liberia. The Ministry has been greatly supported by Faith Warradale in prayer and personal donations. Funds raised have been used to provide basic necessities, such as food, clothing to disadvantaged women, and exercise books for children in school.
A small school has been established in Monrovia (Liberian capital), largely serviced by volunteers, which benefits about 60 children. As this becomes accredited, ongoing funds are needed to support this.
In addition, land has been acquired for future needs. In the medium/long term, the ministry hopes to build accommodation for disadvantaged women to enable them to escape the pressures of abuse and prostitution so they can be protected and learn basic life skills to achieve gainful employment. Classrooms for children’s education are also part of this plan.
If you are interested in knowing more about this ministry or would like to make a donation, please contact the Church office for their contact details.
