I remember the progression through all of my three kids. That time early in their learning when their favourite question
would be: “Why?” Now the question is working it’s way through my grandchildren. I hope they don’t stop asking.
Because it is a great question and not limited to kids of younger ages. We grownups too, ask “Why?” Do you
remember Professor Julius Sumner Miller who posed that question so many times: “But Why is it So?”
And there are so many why questions about faith, about God’s actions, about life.
Pentecost was one of those moments that people still might ask Why?
Why did God send His Holy Spirit? Why did God
give all those people the ability to speak in different languages?
Why is this still meant for us today?
And in these words today, we find the reason why.
