Welcome Home With Open Hands
Time after time the Lord invites us to come home. There’s 2 of those invitations built into Isaiah and Matthew in today’s readings. Isaiah was just one of the many the Lord used to call His people home. He promised that one of David’s descendants would be the signal, or we could say “The Voice”, to call His people home.
In Matthew we hear how the Lord used John the Baptist. “Turn back to God! The kingdom of heaven will soon be here.” He was saying ‘come back home to The Lord – let his kingdom be your home’. They were both referring to Jesus.
In turn Jesus invites us to invite others. His invitation is for the world. How privileged we are to hear his voice. How privileged we are share his voice and his message. And so, as I said last week, I repeat this week, we want our community to know . . .
