I wonder if people who have been Christians for longer periods of time sometimes lost touch with the Power the Lord has place in them. That’s me sometimes. Is it you too at times? Could it be that familiarity with God’s power schmoozes us into a comfort zone from which we find it hard to move. We have this power, but perhaps we need reigniting.
This hymn below picks up how this power ignited the early Christians; reminds us of just how powerful the Lord is; and offers us a prayer to use in our lives as disciples of Jesus.
The Lord bless you with a reignition of the Spirit’s power within you.

Filled with the spirit’s power, with one accord
the infant church confessed its risen Lord:
Holy Spirit, in the church today
no less your power of fellowship display.
Now with the mind of Christ set us on fire,
that unity may be our great desire:
give joy and peace; give faith to hear your call,
and readiness in each to work for all.
Widen our love, good Spirit, to embrace
