This Sunday @ Faith Warradale three young people will confirm their faith. What a joy and privilege it is to be a part of such a celebration. They have accepted their baptism – God’s gift to them – and want to declare it publicly to us all. It’s like they have chosen to affirm God’s love for them, and their love for God.
This is a conscious action, and it is prompted by the Lord at work in their lives through the presence of His Holy Spirit.
It’s like any act of love that we do in the name of Christ. We choose to love in real ways that make a difference in the lives of other people. We don’t have to. We choose to.
Jesus didn’t have to love us, and then to die for us. He chose to lay down his life for you and for me and for these three young people who are confirming their faith today.
To love is a choice we make.
The more we learn and know of God’s love for us, the more we will fully know and understand how to make the right choices in all aspects of our lives. The final day will one day arrive and we are all the better prepared for that day by keeping busy responding to the opportunities the Lord places in front of us. God’s Holy Spirit will always be prompting the right choices in us so that we are busy doing good deeds that bring glory and praise to God.
