Here’s a few descriptions of real life extracted from a Bible study on real life in Christ . . .
Real Life is where God’s love changes the way we live. In Real life we Grow as God’s people. Real Life was taught by Dietrich Bonhoeffer, who challenged us to live in selfless community together.
We are not afraid to embrace Real Life. When things don’t look perfect, we know that God’s grace and love will see us through. Real Life is acknowledging our mistakes and learning from our struggles. Real Life is trusting in God in the midst of those struggles.
Our world is being more and more shaped into something unreal. The so called ‘reality’ shows that parade across our TV screens are not the real life they pretend to be. They pretend. They entertain. They lie. They dumb us down. We know it, but we soak it up. Ironically, as much as we know the reality of our lives, the celebrations and failures, the hurts and the good feelings, we allow ourselves to be lulled by unreality. Sin remains.
We know that ultimate real life is found in Christ – Christ who forgives our sin and sets us free to live..
When we bring our faith in Christ to every circumstance of our lives, we can truly experience ‘real life’
