In this week’s Gospel reading Jesus sets his disciples loose on his mission: Go out and bring the Good News to people. It wasn’t going to be easy. He even described it like sending lambs into a pack of wolves. But they had a wonderful gift to give, a blessing to share with anyone who welcomed them: “God bless this home with peace.”
When we consider the amount of unrest, fear, uncertainty and even anger that is so often all around us (even sometimes in our own lives), this is an amazing gift. They went out with that blessing of peace and shared Jesus. Amazing things happened. People’s lives were changed. Their lives were changed. They were never the same again.
God wants to send us out too with that same amazing gift. After worship this Sunday is a chance to be a part of an encouraging conversation about how we reach out to new people. How do we share our faith in meaningful ways? How can we encourage each other along the way?
You are invited!
