Dearly Holy People.
Hang on a minute PT: Did you say holy people?
Yes, I did. That’s because Jesus sacrifice has made it possible for us to come close to God: to actually be his holy people.
So we are made holy because Christ obeyed God and offered himself once for all. Hebrews 10:10
Obedience and Holiness // A Real Expression of Love
This Sunday in the reading from Hebrews, obedience and holiness come together. Holiness my well be something that we aspire to. However, it’s nothing that we can achieve on our own. It is in fact a gift of God. Jesus’ obedience to his father, his subsequent death and resurrection, make it possible for all who are baptised into him to enter into the holy presence of God.
So now we are blessed with this pathway into the holy presence of God through our Saviour Jesus. Jesus did this for us in obedience to His father.
It was an act of extreme love. He invites us along to be with him in the full time presence of God.
Along the way he tells us to love as we have been loved.
When we do that, obedience and holiness come together in our lives.
