Resurrection is real! We confess it in the creeds: The Nicene Creed: “We look for the resurrection of the dead, and the life of the world to come.” and in The Apostles Creed: “I believe in the resurrection of the body, and life everlasting”. It sort of glides along with the rest of our faith confession as we rush to the “Amen”.
A Christian believes that even in death, life is not over. We live on! Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life. The one who believes in me will live, even though they die; and whoever lives by believing in me will never die. Do you believe this?” John 11:25-26
If you do believe this, what difference does it make in your life? Could it make an even greater difference?” When we are young life seems to take forever – the years move slowly. However, as we grow older the years seem to speed up and the reality of dying and promised eternity can take on a more significant meaning for us. But the promise of resurrection, of life as part of the Kingdom of God, is given by the Lord as a ‘present’ reality that is not influenced by our age. Are you 1 or 81? You are a child of God and his promise or resurrection holds true – always!
