Deeper life is about living in the context of eternal life.
If there is no resurrection; if there is no eternity, then our lives amount to very little. In the scheme of things our lives can be very shallow. In many ways we can be caught up in the froth and bubble of life. We can so easily become the flotsam and jetsam floating on a polluted sea – or even detritus, the rotted down remains of the day. But Jesus doesn’t want that for us. What he wants is for us to be significant lives. He wants us to know him, to know his voice, to follow him, AND LIVE!
Following this way, we will live lives that have deep roots – like those trees by the stream in Psalm 1. Our lives will be fruitful – fruit of significance – fruit that fulfills and satisfies.
Do you want to live a deeper life? Then follow our shepherd Jesus.
