Sometimes life can become very ‘ho hum, same old same old’.  We can even begin to wonder: “Is this all there is?

Maybe that’s your experience with life right now.   Is there something more?

I want to encourage you with this:  YES!   There is more, and God’s plans for you are real and good.

Here’s his promise for you:

For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. Jeremiah 29:11

Sometimes we get out of touch with the Lord and his plans for us. But we don’t have to stay that way. If you are a baptised child of God you need to know that He is never out of touch with you. Every day He will give you moments that might either bring about change or affirm you in your faith. Either way, they could be described as life changing moments. When God speaks into our hearts and lives his Word does something in us. Even if our response is to wrestle with what he has to say, God is bringing change into our hearts and lives.

I am wondering: “Will you experience a life changing or a life affirming moment today?” I am praying for you that the Lord would open the eyes of your heart to see and recognise what he is doing in and around your life right now. It could even be that the hard things you encounter are ways that the Lord can guide you to his love and mercy – to a fresh hope.

God uses all sorts of opportunities to change and shape our lives: Someone prays over you; an ‘aha’ moment as you read His Word; a rite of passage – even a rite of confirmation – as will be experienced by Caitlin, Zack and Kevin today – and many other circumstances.

If we intentionally go about daily life looking for and expecting God’s lifechanging presence, then we will see it and experience it. What a blessing that can be. Never again the same, same old, but something new everyday.
