t’s the culmination of the Lenten season that brings us to three significant events in the life of Jesus and his followers.
Communion. Crucifixion. Resurrection.
Communion – Jesus gift of himself that keeps on giving. It’s the table at which his disciples are fed and watered for life. Maybe you have been missing out on the feast? We will celebrate communion three times this Easter weekend: Maundy Thursday, Good Friday and Easter Day. If you have been missing out, come along and share in the celebration – the feast of life.
Crucifixion – Jesus sacrifice on yours and my behalf. The lamb of God suffers and dies, carrying our sin to the cross. His blood paying the price of redemption for the whole world – look to him and live!
Resurrection – If you are baptised into Jesus, you are baptised into his death and resurrection. Jesus’ resurrection is ours. We believe in the resurrection from the dead. We will not die but live! And so Easter celebrates this wonderful gift of eternal. This life begins in the Kingdom of God now! You are part of the kingdom now. So come along and rejoice with God’s people everywhere they gather.
Jesus was put to death on a cross. But three days later,
God raised him to life and let him be seen. Acts 10:39,40
He isn’t here! God has raised him to life,
just as Jesus said he would. Matthew 28:6
You have been raised to life with Christ.
Now set your heart on what is in heaven. Colossians 3:1
God bless you with peace and joy this Easter time.
