It took a death to overcome death: not just to overcome death, but also all the powers of darkness and sin. It seems counterproductive
that Jesus had to die to have victory over death. In worldly terms, victory belongs to the last one standing.
As people who benefit from the death of Jesus – the victory over death and sin that he has won for us – we can and we will stand strong and firm.
Even if in our human weakness we struggle and stumble about, still impacted by sin and it’s consequences, victory is still ours.
One day we will stand with all of God’s creation in front of the throne of judgement, and there we will meet our victorious Saviour face to face. We, who have placed our faith in him, whose faith is a living and active faith, will be received into his Kingdom with Thanksgiving and joy.
We don’t trust in human power and earthly strength, we trust in the mighty power and victory of Jesus! He listens to us when we are in trouble and comes to our rescue. Jesus has overcome sin death and the grave for us so that we might live with him into eternity.
We will celebrate together in the Kingdom!
