For us!
For you and me!
For the world!
For the Ukraines and the Russians!
He was hounded into the grave by sinful people. He was persecuted by experts. He was prosecuted by jealous liars and fearful foes. But yet this persecution turned ultimately to be a persecution that delivers us from all our sins; delivers us into the Kingdom of God; delivers the peace of God deep into our hearts; and delivers hope for the future – based on the solid rock that is Christ.
This persecution also delivers to us: power for living.
During this Lenten season we will consider how the persecution of Jesus, and the victory of Christ over death gives us power. It’s power that enables our lives with confidence and trust. It’s power that enlivens our whole lives with assurance and hope.
Nothing, no one else, can do that; other than the blood of Jesus.
